Grover Electric and Plumbing Supply

Garbage Disposals

Fall and winter usually means getting folks together for the holidays. That, of course. means big meals. Big meals means giving the old garbage disposal a workout. If you don’t have one, you’d be amazed how useful it is to have small food waste that’s ground up and sent away with an electric garbage disposal. Which, by the way, is a vast improvement over the gas and steam garbage disposals of yesteryear. (That was a joke.)

Given that we are an electrical and plumbing supply store, this is the perfect project for us to help you with. It requires both electrical and plubing skills. We excel at both.

Like So many projects, its not hard to do as a do-it-yourselfer with some basic garbage disposal knowledge. Installing, repairing, or replacing, we can help. We’ll ask you a few simple questions before we start offering advise. Such as:

Is there an electrical outlet nearby?

Is there a dishwasher drain attached?

Do you know what brand you are replacing?

What does the plumbing under the sink look like?

How does it mount to the sink, a big lock ring, hose clamp, etc?

Do you want the same horsepower as the one you’re replacing?

These are all questions that help us to know just what to recommend. Then we’ll be glad to walk you through the process. We’ll help you understand what tools you’ll need, what style and size of disposal you’ll need and we’ll make sure you know how to do the installation yourself and save a few dollars.simply come in to the store and we’ll get you going.

Soon enough you’ll be able to ditch Aunt Martha’s fruit cake with nothing more than a quite whirr.
